In case of alcohol-GHB co-exposure, alcohol competes with GHB for the enzyme’s binding sites, resulting in a decrease in GHB metabolism. GHB is a natural sedative with the potential to be used as a recreational drug 209,210. You may participate in a variety of behavioral therapies that will help you identify the unhelpful thoughts and behaviors that contributed to your substance use and teach you coping skills to change those behaviors and thoughts, manage stressors, and avoid relapse. There are not currently any medications that have been approved in the treatment of stimulant use disorder. At higher doses, stimulants may cause additional adverse effects.
